MSU is considered by USA Cycling to be a varsity program. That means we, through the generous offerings of the Hotter ‘n Hell 100, give out more than $10,000 a year in scholarships to our top riders. You do not, however, have to be a top caliber rider to be part of this team.

There are no tryouts. All you have to do to become part of the team is join our mailing list on Orgsync, and you’ll start receiving notifications of meetings, rides, etc.

Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of ability. All you need is a bike. If you do at least 2 races with the team, you will be given a team jersey. Scholarship riders receive two full kits and a skinsuit. Scholarship riders also receive in-state tuition waivers, so if you’re from out of state, it is a good opportunity to lower your cost of attendance by a few thousand dollars, in addition to your award money.
